Course Description: The role of the air barrier system is a big one, it needs to stop the uncontrolled flow of air from the outside in and the inside out. If it is not successful, you could be continuing to heat and cool your building as well as allowing water and moisten laden air in, which could cause damage to your inner structure. As our structures and facades get more complicated and varied, the role of the air barrier system is intensified. This presentation will go over what is considered industry accepted or baseline, and explore how to evaluate a system, including transitions and connections, that will provide confidence in performance that will go above and beyond was expected.
